Welcome to the University of Cumbria Students Union 2008/09 Elections!

You will be able to vote in any positions vacant at your site of study.

This voting system uses a preferantial ballot, i.e. you indicate the person you would most like to win by voting with a '1', and then indicate your second choice with a '2' and so on until all the options for that position have been exhausted.

Re-open Nominations (or RON) is always a candidate for each position, and if you are unhappy with the range of options and feel you cannot endorse any of them then RON will register your desire for the nominations to be reopened. If RON wins an election then nominations start again for that position as soon as the current elections close. Candidates who stood for the position in previous elections may do so again.

You will need to be a registered member of this website and appearing on the Student Lists provided by the University of Cumbria for the system to allow you to vote.

If you have any problems accessing your ballot paper please go through the following procedure:

1) Register as a free user of this website.

2) When you register as a user please ensure you use your official student email address (eg: 01000000@cumbria.ac.uk) and not a hotmail, yahoo or any other non-student email.

3) We have been notified that network settings on some University pc's interfere with the registration process, so if this effects you please try registering again from a pc outside the University, i.e. from home or on a laptop.

4) Make sure that once you have been registered and replied to the verification email that is sent out to you that you log in as a user in the main log in box in the main navigation bar to the left.

5) Then come back to this page and re-enter your log in details and unique student ID number (i.e. 0100000) to pass the security check and unlock your ballot paper.

If for whatever reason you are unable to vote you can cast your ballot in the Student Union Office at your site on Monday 10th & Tuesday 11th March and from 9am to 12moom Wednesday 12th of March.

If you have any problems with this voting system please email Danny Prescott (Assistant Returning Officer) through:  daniel.prescott@cumbria.ac.uk
