Faculty Representative positions exist at each campus, and reflect the faculties that operate there. As such, the number of Faculty Rep positions vary from campus to campus.
The post themselves are not full members of Campus Committee, they attend but in a support role, specifically for the Academic Affairs Officer.
With the Academic Affairs Officer they help organise, promote and attend the Academic Affairs Forum at their site. This is the primary way for students to let the Student Union know about issues surrounding thier academic provision, a main area in which the Union operates. Faculty Reps also have a free hand to represent and assist the members of thier faculty in whatever way they see fit, which in the past has included helping organise social events and focus groups.
As a representative of the Union act in a responsible and appropriate manner that reflects the work of the Students' Union
Act in accordance with and abide by the UCSU Constitution, rules and all Union policies as set out by Union Council or the Executive, and such other procedures and instructions that may be implemented from time to time by Union Council
Regularly inform and update the membership, Academic Affairs Forum and Campus Committee of current work, projects and achievements in relation to your role
Attend Union training and Student Representative training as and when required
Work alongside Union staff as and when required
Play an active role within the Academic Affairs Forum
Working alongside the Academic Affairs Officer and Campus Committee, assist in the coordination and promotion of the Academic Affairs Forum. Bring forward the views and opinions of the students within your faculty to the Academic Affairs Forum and the Union as a whole.
