► Returning Officer
The Returning Officer
The Union Council appoints and independent expert to fulfill the role of Returning Officer at the beginning of each academic year. This year it selected the NUS North West Regional Organisor. They will be in overall charge of the elections and the mechanisms that support it, and is the final authority for rulings and rules infringements.

The Assistant Returning Officer
As The NUS Regional Organiser fulfills the role across many Union in the north-west a permanant member of Students' Union staff is nominated to act as her assistant in much of the day to day running of the elections.
This role falls the the UCSU Representation & Democracy Coordinator Danny Prescott, who is based at the Lancaster campus. He is the first point of call for any enquiries and questions, and is available monday-friday from 9am to 5pm.
