Working with the Students’ Union and People and Planet Society where appropriate, coordinate and deliver environmental campaigns and events on campus to raise awareness amongst the student body
Assist University Environmental Officers in running environmental projects and schemes on campus, such as paper and cardboard recycling schemes
Working with the Students’ Union Volunteer Co-ordinator promote environmental volunteering opportunities on campus and coordinate a team of volunteers that will develop environmental projects, schemes, campaigns and events.
Liaise with the SU Media Officer and P&P Publicity Officer where appropriate to produce publicity for campaigns.
Ensure that relevant and up to date environmental and ethical information is available to all student members and liaise with the People and Planet Society where appropriate.
Represent the Students’ Union at University and local environment groups and contribute to associated projects where appropriate.
Working closely with the President, campus Vice President, the General Manager and any other relevant officers, work towards meeting the environmental criteria needed to achieve a Sound Impact Award (the Sound impact Awards is an environmental accreditation scheme with an awards element designed specifically for Students’ Unions).
Liaise and work with local environmental groups in order to protect and develop not just the environment of the campuses but that of the local area as well.
As a Representative Officer act in a responsible and appropriate manner which reflects the work of the Students’ Union
Act in accordance with and abide by the UCSU Constitution, rules and all Union policies as set out by the Union Council or Executive, and such other procedures or instructions that may be implemented from time to time by Union Council.
Regularly inform and update the membership, Campus Committee, Union Council and Executive of current work, projects and achievements in relation to your role.
Attend Union Officer training as and when required.
