As a direct replacement for the Campus Community the Campus Collective is an open meeting that can be called by any student on a campus to collectively discuss and debate a significant local issue. Once called the meeting is run by the Campus Representative who will ensure that as far as possible all students are able to attend and that if there is a mandated topic of discussion that the meeting stays on theme.
Having said all that a Campus Collective can be called by a Union official, doesn’t have to be a single issue meeting and beyond a core set of rules is open and flexible as to how it is run and what its aims are. The exact nature of the meeting is defined by the need of the students on campus, so it can range from an informal open chat right through to a very formal serious debate with vote and mandate for action attached.
