The Students Union Student Parent Experience Survey

Following on from some inspirational NUS research about student parents, the University of Cumbria Students' Union has developed their own research into the University experience of student parents at the University of Cumbria

The Students' Union wanted to find out:

who are student parents were in terms of demographics
what childcare options are available to our students and whether they recieve funding for their childcare
how having children may impact on their University experience
how timetabling and assessment requirements fit in with their Parental role and responsibilities
whether there were changes that could be made to improve their University experience

The Students' Union research is ongoing and includes an online survey, the collection of more in depth information about 'a typical day' for a student parent at the University of Cumbria, and a review of available childcare options and aims to make recommendations about specific changes that could be made in order to improve the University experience for student parents.
